The previous three books have focused the main storyline on Lindon’s advancement towards a greater power, and yes, at its core this is the main strength of Cradle and Progression Fantasy. ![]() “I don’t have any love for the Jai clan, but as for you, if I saw you on fire I’d hold an umbrella for you so the rain didn’t put you out.” But now? I might be having nightmares if I don’t continue with the series. What happened in Skysworn is the direction that the series needs, although I highly enjoyed Blackflame, I didn’t have that uncontrollable urge to continue with the series. I honestly think that Skysworn was even better than Blackflame imagine my surprise when I found out that many readers thought of this one as a downgrade for the series. ![]() Skysworn, just like each respective previous books, once again upgraded the overall quality of the Cradle series. The name Gora is short for Gourmohan, and he had earned this name because of his extremely fair complexion. He’s got an army of men who protect him, and woman who is his partner, and that term is strictly business. ![]() Joseph should have known that trying to pay with counterfeit money wouldn’t go over well, and now London, his sister pays the price for it.Ĭrewe we learn throughout this story is a man with a dark dark past – it takes most of the story to get to the crux of it, but essentially, he feels that his revenge is worth being so hard. As all powerful semi illegal men are in these stories, if you cross him, then you pay with your life or that of someone close to you. ![]() ![]() In this story we have Crewe, our leading man, a powerful man – who runs a scotch empire sure, but who trades intelligence for a price. They’re intertwined at times, but still quite unique and really dark, seedy and hot. I really do enjoy the worlds that our author Penelope Sky creates for us. Now I’ll take something from him-something irreplaceable.īut even when Joseph doubles the amount of money he owes me, I don’t give her up. He took my intelligence without paying for it. It starts at a Halloween skips to the winter Snow Ball dance then to Valentine's day, and the end of the school year. ![]() Brewer skips forward in time by hours, weeks, and months without any acknowledgment to the reader. The plot and build of the story was rather threadbare and lacking. And then, of course, she just had to throw in that the street that the vampire family lived on was Lugosi Trail (the only street name, or spacial reference in the whole book). I'm sure Heather Brewer thought she was pretty damn clever when she named her main vampire character Vladimir (as in "The Impaler") or when she named another (pretty much non-existent) character Edgar Poe or when she named the big, scary, dressed-all-in-black, bad guy D'Ablo. ![]() |
